Dealer has installed Titan Multi Tracs on the new 2910..and have purchased chains for my snow removal..they say they will not clear the fender..I am sure I saw on here there were spacers available for that problem..cannot find the post, could someone PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS QUICKLY..they are setting up the tractor now..I really need those chains here..inclined driveway, blacktop..(for icy conditions)..can you space or move those rear wheels out enough to make clearance for the tire chains? I sure would appreciate a post sometime today? Thanks!!

I vaguely recall something about that issue but I also recall that the biggest problem is that the outer edge of the fender tunrs down which means you cant gain any more clearance by moving the tire outwards, just more stability.
The big problem ytou have is that you have just about the WORSTY tire available for traction on a smooth hard slippery surface. Ice and R4's do not mix well at ALL.
BTW, chains are NOT meant to help with ice, they are for adding traction in deep snow, sand or mud. The studded ones help some, but only for the fraction of a revolution that they are in contact with the ground.
I think you have two real options, ballast the daylights out of it, or install ice studs in those Titans, the pavement won't like them, but then chains are going to chew the driveway up pretty bad too.

I would appreciate what Bowhunter has to say on this one also,(my soon-to-be delivered 2910, loaded rears, with Titan, Multi trac R3's, with duo-chains)For front-blade snow plowing~~ I recall him discussing tire choices several days back. If my mind serves me well, ((no comments please...)) he was discussing R4's, Industrials, with another member, and they were stating that these tires were poor for traction in snow work..The ones I have on this NEW RIG coming Thursday, are Multi-trac, Titan, R3's.. let me know please, I sure cold use the input. It is SIGN the papers time here, and the clock is ticking. Thanks. ....

Sorry Ponyman, I had a small 'brain fart', I thought you were referring to R4's not turf tires.
Turf tires are the BEST traction you will get on ice or smooth hard surfaces generally, I'd be surprised in chains would add much except for loosening a few fillings and tearing the he#$ out of the paving.
We have plowed commercially on them for many years with no problems.

I think I have seen the multi-track tire in question recently on a new B7800.
It has a "V" cross section like an R-1 and the shallow tread bars of an R-4. It appeared to only make ground contact with the center of the tread like an R-1 and I don't think it will make a very good snow/ice tire.
The 2910 has an SUV size rim and studded radial snow tires from that market will slap right on to it.
If you want to see what that would look like, have a look at my pics. Both green tractors are outfitted with radial mud & snows matched with Firestone turfs on the front.

All due respect, I don't think the tires you were visualizing are the same as mine. Mine are not "V" pattern, or ag tire types at all..we used to call them chevron tires, looks like a sergeant's stripe..ok? These tires I am referring to are an "agressive turf tire" They can be seen on the Titan Tire site. They are standard pretty much now on the John Deere TEN series I was very serious about...before I settled on a Kubota. Thanks, and I WILL check your pictures..I appreciate your input, it all helps a great deal. Have a good one. (have two..!) ....

Sorry... you are right. The Multi Trac C/S shown on the web site was not the tire I saw offered as a turf tire on a new 7800.
The tire pictured on the web site is as good as you are going to get for snow/ice usage in a standard tractor tire.
Your will see some increase in performance if you went to a studded radial SUV tire, but probably not enough to justify the cost.
If I had a 2910 with that tire I would as Murf said ballast the heck out of the tractor and run minimal air pressures....... 10 to 12 PSI.
I think the multi trac would work well with cable chains in slippery conditions and the cables would take up a lot less room under the fender when compared to link chains. ....
